People are asking ... what will the Key Colony Beach City Commission do in February, 2024?

The City Commission will host its regular monthly meeting at the Key Colony Inn and as a Zoom webinar on Thursday, February 15, at 9:30 a.m. They have a packed commission agenda.

The commission will handle a number of special requests including a Life Saving award for Officer John Buckwalter, 5-years of Service by Sergeant Buxton, Community Partnerships by Officer Burden, the Clam Bake Event on February 19, Hot Dogs at the Hut on March 2, the Annual 7-Meter Bridge Run on March 21, and the Ron Sutton Memorial Fishing Derby on June 12.

They will issue an invitation to apply for the vacant City Commission Seat.

The commission will review Monday's Townhall Meeting.

We encourage every KCBer to Ask Your Commissioners about these items on the agenda.
Email the commissioners and city clerk.

  • Should the commission reopen Marble Hall for immediate use?
  • Should the commission obtain bids to repair Marble Hall and Administration area floor?
  • Should the commission obtain bids to put Construction of the LIVS-design for the City Hall complex out for rebid before we have a citizen led design review?
Read about the citizen generated City Hall proposale here.
  • Should the commission continue the Smart City Project?
The "Smart City" plan was promoted by former city adminstrator Turner. There are serious concerns about the cost, the 20-year contract, security intrusions, tech support, individual choice, the cost, city-wide surveillance, the 20-year contract, and more. Read the pros and cons of the plan to Hotwire our "Smart" City here.
  • The commission will discuss qualifications and requirements for a new City Administrator
KCBers have panned both city administrators the city hired. Click here to see how those administrators hurt KCB.
  • Should the commission pass resolutions amending the rules of procedure for volunteer advisory boards and committees and to authorize participation in a lawsuit against the Financial Disclosure requirements for our city officials?
  • Should the commission increase in fees for short and long-term trailer parking?
  • Should the commission approve renewing the "Rentalscape" monitoring by Deckard Technology at a cost of $18,500.00?

Please do Ask Your Commissioners about one or more of these items on the agenda by email and at the meeting. Click here to email the commissioners and city clerk.

Please attend the meeting in person or by Zoom if you can't get to the Inn.

This meeting will be held on Thursday, February 15, at 9:30 a.m. at the temporary meeting place for the City of Key Colony Beach at the Key Colony Inn Banquet Room at 700 W. Ocean Drive, Key Colony Beach, Florida 33051.
