Two points I'd like to make:
1) Has anyone on the commission ever considered that present and future massive spending and expansion commitments that the city commission wants to undertake is a burden to be shouldered by the existing taxpayers of KCB, all most all of whom are simply homeowners? Forget FEMA and the State of FL; they have their own fish to fry. Simply by virtue of its location and size limitations KCB is clearly a no-growth entity; common sense tells us there will be no future mall or office building developments, no future restaurants, no commercial taxpayers, no farm fields to knock down for new subdivision developments, etc. So...don't count on tax dollars you'll never have.
2) How can anyone on the commission not recognize the terrible dissension and divisiveness that the commission and the administrator have caused in this community? Can you be that naive? Surely you can't possibly enjoy the tension and animosity? KCB may have had a few minor issues over the years but never had such hatred and completely ignoring of constituent input. Look inwardly at both your board and your paid advisors and I suspect you'll find the origin of the rancor. Not a nice legacy. Already my guess is ex-mayor Trefry may have seen the light.
My family has owned property here for over 50 years, and I've been coming here and watching local life almost that long. I find the present situation more than disheartening, but I'm confident it too will change. We are here for the long-haul. Govern yourselves accordingly. Thank you.
