How Do I Vote by Mail?

Under Florida law, all registered voters are permitted to vote by mail. Period. The KCB ordinance on early voting does not apply to voting by mail.

You Must Request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot

Requests for vote-by-mail ballots must be received in your local Supervisor of Elections office no later than 5:00 pm on the 10th day before an election.
Here's where it gets complicated. The "local Supervisor of Elections" is KCB city clerk Silvia Gransee for this KCB referendum election only. The "local Supervisor of Elections" is Monroe County Supervisor of Elections Joyce Griffin for all other local, state, or national elections held here.

That's right, sports fans. You may have to register twice to vote by mail. You will have to register separately to vote-by-mail in the KCB referendum election.

Contact your local Supervisor of Elections to request a vote-by-mail ballot.

You may request a vote-by-mail ballot in person, by mail, email, fax or by phone. Only the voter or a designated member of his or her immediate family or legal guardian can request a vote-by-mail ballot for the voter.

As a voter requesting a vote-by-mail ballot you must provide your:

  • name
  • address
  • date of birth
  • signature (needed on written requests only)

Voting a Mail Ballot

Your marked ballot must be mailed or delivered in person, reaching Silvia Gransee's office not later than 7:00 pm on the day of the referendum election. Do not return your voted mail ballot to a polling place.
