People Are Asking About Municipal Overreach

KCB Needed
Your Help

and Our City
Is Better for It!

Our little KCB needed your help!

264 KCB citizens signed the referendum petition to ask to vote on the ambitious City Hall project. More than 100 other KCB property owners echoed that desire.

After spending what may have totaled six figures fighting over your petition, the new city commission met on December 20, 2023, to discuss a proposed settlement agreement. The commission voted 4:0 to approve the revised Memorandum of Understanding and to repeal the vote to award the contract to HOB.

The meeting minutes should show the final wording as: a "Motion to approve the revised Memorandum of Understanding with Ms. Swanson. Upon her execution of the agreement as well as the mayor's execution, the prior vote to approve and accept the HOB bid for the new City Hall project will be repealed." [emphasis added]

Mayor Joey Raspe and Laurie Swanson have each signed the Memorandum. The HOB bid is repealed. The dismissal of the lawsuit means the conclusion of the litigation and has triggered the release of the city transcripts about contesting the referendum.

KCB can now move forward with a new plan for city hall!

This is very good news.
