Why Should You Sign
|
What has happened in our City?
» We've faced lies and fraud about the storm damage.
» The "official" secrecy, spin, and cover-ups from the first vote to hire an architect to the locked doors and chains.
» The Gang of 3 (runaway Commissioners Harding, Trefry, and Ramsay-Vickery) decided to replace our City Hall with a jarring, difficult-to-use complex of buildings.
» They chose an unqualified builder. And they acted in spite of the allegations of wrongdoing, the lack of support, and the loss of grants and funding.
» They gave us the Post Office debacle.
» They will cost us the appearance and the loss of City Hall Park.
» The total cost is now estimated between $10 million and $14 million. And likely to go higher.
» And they cost KCB its reputation.
Here's the cartoon they want you to buy:
>
Compared to the real building (and trees) they want you to give up...
> You can help fix our little KCB!
» Step 1: Say YES to FIGHT City Hall! Reject the City Commission decision to build their overwhelming new City Hall edifice that has such extraordinarily bad ergonomics and looks like the Mall of America with a gun tower.
KCB citizens have asked to vote on the ambitious City Hall project.» Step 2: Sign the petition.
It doesn't matter if you want to rebuild City Hall, build a new complex, or something else entirely, the petition simply instructs the City Commission to let you vote on it.
That's it. Just sign the petition for your voice to be heard.
KCB voters can request the actual petition here.» Step 3: Request a vote-by-mail ballot.
It will arrive by email with instructions to print it and mail it back.
Florida has changed the rules for vote-by-mail ballots. All vote-by-mail requests submitted before the 2022 general election have expired. A vote-by-mail ballot now works for just one election so citizens have to request it each and every time they want to vote.» Step 4: Join a citizens committee to help "Take Back KCB"
Stopping the Taj ma-KCB points us back in the right direction but doesn't finish the fight.» Step 5: Watch this space for news about the referendum election.
That effort will include presenting alternative City Hall plans.
And helping city officials make good choices.
It could require a recall election and more.
