Thank You for Transparency

Dear Joey and KCB Commission:Although I missed the last meeting, I want to thank and commend you for trying to make the workings of Key Colony Beach government more transparent. It is not an easy task to check in with citizens every whip stitch to keep us informed. We want to know what is happening, but it is not that easy to figure out the direction or intent of the commission from the agenda or even the packet. We celebrate your intention to share our city's workings with us.
Thank you, Joey, for posting and emailing the letter from the mayor clarifying what is up with the city hall and reminding us that pertinent information may be found in the summer meeting minutes on the city website. However, that is not an easy task for anyone. We would appreciate continuing to keep us abreast of what is happening with the city hall construction in regular Mayor letter postings and emails.
For myself, Laurie Swanson, thank you for taking up the safety of our citizens in the walking lanes vis-a-vis electric bikes. I have tried to read the ordinance that the city passed a year or so ago and it made no sense whatever. That's when I knew my 2021 letter fell on deaf ears. Please be sure when the law firm writes our laws that they apply to our situation. Sometimes it appears that Dirk Smits and company grab the nearest piece of legislation and plop it into our code. I am sure we pay a hefty sum for the legislation provided to us – ordinances should be clear, applicable and make sense.

The KCB admin are big spenders of the property owner's money… I wouldn't be surprised they don't even live there. They seem focused on fleecing the owners by raising taxes and fees.
