Speaking as an outsider, this has an all too familiar ring to it! Is history repeating itself in KCB?

Why are the renderings not on the city hall website?

Transparency
Dear Commissioners,
Although I am excited about the progress on our upgraded city hall, I was disappointed that the renderings, included in the packet, had little relation to what was presented and voted on at today's special meeting. No real effort was made to share the new and very different renderings with the public. I am wondering if sufficient effort is being made to include the citizens of KCB. Let me remind you that the lack of information disseminated by the last administration was the basis for the petition to stop the building of the former project.
Allowing the KCB residents to be informed with transparency is why we elected you. Please work to include the citizenry in these very important decisions. Let's have another meeting next week to present the renderings that you all approved today including the laundry list and grocery list that you will be giving to the architect.
Haste makes waste.

Dear commissioners:
Thank you so much for all you do for the citizens of Key Colony Beach. I'm so glad you have saved our city hall.
I have one suggestion about the renovations to city hall. How about a multiple-choice questionnaire to the citizens of KCB, asking which additions they would like to support?
We don't want to go back to the previous type of commissioners who didn't ask for citizen input. What a hassle that was.
Personally, I would like an exercise room with machines. With maybe something like a key card access that KCB residents could pay for annually to support the costs of the equipment, maintenance on the equipment and administering the key cards. The administration of the exercise room could be similar to the annual fee for parking your boat trailer in the boat trailer parking lot.
And we probably need more space for the police department.
But for a visitor center, how about just a big poster that gives the address of the Marathon Chamber of Commerce? The Chamber has all the information anyone would need about activities in Marathon.
A reception area sounds nice, but a little extravagant. I don't think people need a special place to sit while they come to pay their fees.
But other KCBers may have other suggestions. A questionnaire to property owners would be nice.
Want me to make one up? It's no fair asking you to do something that I wouldn't do myself.
Cheers,

Several KCBers have also suggested holding a Town Hall.
The November 18 Town Hall appeared on the city schedule at the last minute. The City Commission Regular Meeting & Public Hearing is scheduled for November 21 in Marble Hall.
Mayor Raspe responded, "There has been some confusion regarding the status of Key Colony Beach City Hall. I would like to clarify the current status and future plans." Read his City Hall Update November 2024 here.
KCBers still don't know what the approved "Scheme A1" from architect Wesley David Burton looks like.
